Objectives. - Development and management of 9,263.53 hectares of raw materials plantations with high productivity, improve Pinus Keysia forest productivity from 142 m3/ha at present to 220 m3/ha when trees are shaped and Acacia forest from 70 - 100m3 / ha. Providing every year from 40.000-100.000 m3 of Pinus Keysia timber from thinning with good quality for Veneer plank processing factory, as well as standing trees sold to outside market in order to ensure profits and reinvest;
- Protecting and restoring the environment through forest plantation activities and the reforestation, contributing to improving the forest cover in the province; protect and increase the soil fertility; minimize adverse impacts to environment during implementation of reforestation and thinning activities;
- Promoting the active participation of local people, to create jobs for about 700 -1000 labor in forestry activities of the company under the form of the contracted forest plantation, forest protection, harvesting and thinning and associating with local people in forest plantation, thereby creating more jobs and improve the lives of people. Fully meeting the requirements of sustainable forest management according to FSC standards.

6. Plan for reducing the environmental impact - Seedlings sowing and planting: Restrict the use of NPK and towards prioritize the use of bio-fertilizer to minimize adverse environmental impacts. Use (IPM) measures to manage pest and disease for the forest on the basis of ecology that the productivity will be increased, ecologic protected, malicious reduced due to not use chemical and investment costs reduced. Choose variety of plants with high yield and capacity of resistance to pests and diseases. Only use pesticide when it’s absolutely necessary. After planting all chemical packings, plastic bags to be collected to contracted functions units to be handling as prescribed.
- For the handling of vegetation before forest plantation: To be conducted during the dry season to reduce erosion, site cleaning implemented under strips for creating humus to the soil, burning restrictions. Implementing waste collection according to the process and guidance documents of the Corporation GVN N0 252/GVN-QLTNR.PT, dated May 13th, 2015. After handling of vegetation, forest planting is done right after pit hoe in order to increase the forest cover.
- For the handling of vegetation under the pine forest canopy: to be conducted during the dry season to reduce erosion, implemented controlled burn. Implementing a controlled burn according to Decision N0 4110/QD-BNN-KHCN dated Dec. 31th, 2006 of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development promulgating section normative standards for pine forest. Time for burning is beginning of the dry season (May 11 to 12 annually).
- For the handling of vegetation under the pine forest canopy: to be conducted during the dry season to reduce erosion, implemented controlled burning. Implementing the controlled burning according to Decision N0 4110/QD-BNN-KHCN dated Dec. 31th, 2006 of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development promulgating normative standards of branch CCCC for pine forest. Time for burning is early of the dry season (November to December annually).
- Harvesting: The Company currently implement in two forms including thinning and clear cutting. Harvesting implemented according to the process of reducing the impact logging (RIL) in order to minimize environmental impact. In areas where the slope ≥ 30˚ implemented under groups with area < 5,0ha/group. Forest planting will be done right after completed harvesting. Fixed skidding line is not selected when wood hauling, and enhance wood dragging by buffalo in order to limit the causes of erosion. Open road for wood hauling in the dry season. The road must be along the rivulet, the bank of streams, small excavated soil volume so the flow is not impeded. After harvesting and thinning the harvesting site must be cleaned up.
7. Plan for reducing the social impact
To propagandize and mobilize the region’s leader and people to sign the commitment on implementing forest protection as well as mobilize people to associate in forest planting with the company, and they are allowed intercropping short day plants as beans, peanuts, sesame, cassava, maize etc.. on forest plantation areas.
The Company annual contribute the funding to maintaining public roads to ensure normal movement of people.
The Company coordinate with local authorities to solve the invaded area by households, the solution is for them to sublease these invaded areas, and associate in forest planting with the company ensuring the harmonization benefits, mutually beneficial, while improving income and job creation for local people.
Annually, at the company’s review meetings of production and trading, the company invites representatives of local authority, typical contracted households to attend the meeting and make suggestions
8. Economic efficiency Loan interest Indicators | r = 3.74 % |
NPV | 261,127,594 |
IRR | 12.0% |
BCR | 3.05 |
Thus, the investment project to be effective and feasible.
(Calculation detailed seen business investment Project of pine forests with 25 year- cycle in Kon Tum period from 2000 to 2024)
9. Social efficiency - Jobs shall be created for 156 employees in the company to ensure a steady income.
- Annually resolve 700-1000 turn of idle labor in localities contributing more income, stabilized economic life, society, poverty reduction, security and social order in the region .
- Gradually transfer intensive techniques on high-yield forest plantations to local people, contributing to increase forest productivity, improving people knowlegde;
- Every year, positive contribution in the movement supported the building of local works from 30 - 50 million VND, contributions of supporting charity funds.
10. Environmental efficiency + Once the management plan has been implemented, the percentage of the company's land use will reach from 80.92% at present to over 91.73% in 2024. Increasing the forest cover of the company more than 90%. Creating the ecological balance, protecting and improving soil to increase the humus, topsoil fertility, practical erosion control, anti-loss of topsoil thickness
+ Water sources being kept for agricultural production and human activities. Forest cover is the positive impact factors preventing dust, flying sand and to reduce the concentration of air pollutants from industrial activities: CO2, SO2, CF4 as well as reducing the greenhouse effect, to clean environment landscape.
+ Company’s forest plantation arrangement on the basis of planning of industrial plantation with an big enough area for appropriate thinning management for ensuring ecological safety, promoting the positive attributes of the forests to improve environmental conditions in a good way. For plantations of people in the region are unplanned forest plantation therefore the rate of forest creating is not high, the area of forest plantation scattered, low environmental effectiveness.
+ Due to the good implementation of silvicultural measures, company’s forest plantation developed, quick closed canopy, promoting protective capacity to protect land and biodiversity as well as protecting groundwater resources, rivulet water, rivers and streams in the localities to provide unpolluted clean water for daily life and other activities of the people in the locality.
+ Biodiversity conservation, thanks to the good implementation of silvicultural measures that the company’s forest plantations ever growing creating good conditions for flora and fauna resided, lived and developed, protect available species in local for ever growing to contribute to the biodiversity conservation at the locality and security to the ecosystem for sustainable forest development
